About
Bodypaint by Ellen was started by Ellen Devos in 2015 and has since grown into a versatile company. The passion for creating started with body paint, but soon expressed itself in other creative fields as well. From henna tattoos to murals and street theater acts. Where will it stop? Nobody knows... But where it started, you can read below.
How it started
Ellen enjoyed working with children and the combination with painting seemed ideal to her. She bought a few basic brushes, some colors of face paint and started practicing; first on himself, then on friends and family. Gradually she bought more and more professional material: glitter tattoos, special effects and fake wound material, material for body painting... and she started working on it.
At the beginning of her last year of study 'Master in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy' at the University of Ghent, she set up her company 'Bodypaint by Ellen' as a student entrepreneur. After her studies she worked part-time as a physiotherapist and part-time as a bodypaint freelancer. Since October 2018 she has been working full-time as a freelance artist.
Education
Ellen is a creative centipede. From childhood she had been bitten by drawing, painting and crafting. She has been playing theater since she was 10 years old and obtained the diploma'Animator in the Youth Network' and 'Wordkunst en drama'. In 2016 she graduated as a physiotherapist at Ghent University. In 2021 she obtained the diploma Basic make-up and make-up at Groeipunt Gent.
Belgian champion bodypaint
In September 2019 Ellen became Belgian Champion body painting. A title she has worked hard for and is quite proud of.
